We are not your typical pet health website. Our sole focus is providing evidence-based information direct to pet owners, without any of the marketing or advertising buzz that surrounds nearly every product out there.
The US pet supplement market alone generated roughly $2 billion in 2025, and the pet food market nearly $68 billion! Both are growing every year. With such a gigantic market, and in turn, a huge number of pet owners, it is no wonder that companies are all vying for your attention and your dollar. In a market realm this large, the advertising “noise” can be deafening at times.
We at PetEvidenceProject care about animals. We care about people. We want people to be able to make informed decisions regarding their pet’s health and wellbeing. The pet food and supplement industries are largely unregulated. There is no governing body that reviews or approves products before they reach the shelves, and existing industry associations provide guidelines rather than enforcement.
Many great food and supplement products exist that will help countless animals. And there are some newer products that have yet to be proven, but may hold promise. However, there are others that have been shown time and again to lack benefit, or worse - potentially pose a risk to pet health. We aim to provide clarity as to which category a type of product falls into, based on the published scientific evidence. No bias, no industry ties: just the evidence.
