By: (a) accessing or using the Site; and/or (b) providing your personal information to us, you agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions set forth herein, whether or not you register for a user account with us. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please leave this Site immediately.

We reserve the right to revise these Terms of Use at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days’ prior notice via email to registered users or a prominent notice on the Site. These Terms of Use are incorporated by reference into and should be read together with our Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict between these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy shall take precedence with respect to the subject matter of privacy and data handling. 2. Description of the Site

Pet Evidence Project is a free, evidence-based educational resource providing scientifically evaluated reviews of pet supplements, pet food categories, and related veterinary health topics. The Site publishes independently authored reviews, evidence grades, and articles written by or reviewed by licensed veterinary professionals. The Site also provides curated lists of certified products with affiliate purchase links.

The Site is provided free of charge to all users. There are no fees, subscriptions, or payment requirements to access any content on the Site. The Site generates revenue through affiliate links and third-party advertising, as described in Section 7.

The Site is an educational and informational resource only. It does not provide veterinary care, facilitate appointments, connect users with veterinarians directly, or process or manage prescriptions. The appearance of any product, supplement, brand, food, or advertisement on the Site does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of safety, efficacy, or suitability for any individual animal.

3. Educational Purpose and Medical Disclaimer

⚠  Critical Notice

The information on this website is NOT a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Information on this Site is not intended to diagnose, treat, or otherwise cure any disease or ailment.

Always seek the advice of your veterinarian with any questions you may have regarding your pet’s medical condition or nutritional needs.

Never disregard professional veterinary advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on this website.

Content on the Site — including articles, supplement evidence reviews, food appraisals, evidence grades, and product lists — is provided strictly for educational and informational purposes. Although the Company attempts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the information on the Site, it makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees as to the accuracy or completeness of Site content. The Site could include typographical or other errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. In the event that any inaccuracy arises, please inform us so that it can be corrected.

The Pet Evidence Project does not recommend or endorse any specific veterinarian, test, product, or procedure mentioned on the Site. No user-specific recommendations are made.

4. No Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR)

The information provided on this website — including but not limited to articles, evidence reviews, grading scales, and product lists — is for informational and educational purposes only. Your use of this Site does not establish a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR).

In accordance with veterinary medical board regulations, a VCPR can only be established through a physical examination of your pet by a licensed veterinarian. Accordingly, the Pet Evidence Project is not “treating” or “diagnosing” your pet, and no content on this Site should be construed as doing so. Always seek the advice of your personal veterinarian regarding any medical condition or treatment plan.

5. Evidence-Based Methodology and Editorial Independence

Our content is derived from the clinical appraisal of peer-reviewed scientific literature. While we strive to provide the most accurate, distilled summaries of available scientific evidence, science is constantly evolving. We do not warrant that the information is exhaustive or error-free, and new data may emerge that changes a product’s or category’s standing.

All product reviews, food category evaluations, and “Evidence Grades” published on the Pet Evidence Project represent the good-faith scientific opinions of our authors and contributors, based strictly on data, research, and manufacturer information available at the time of publication. Our methodology is applied consistently across all brands to ensure objectivity. We do not accept payment in exchange for higher grades.

Independence of Content: The analyses, scientific appraisals, and opinions expressed on Pet Evidence Project are solely those of the authors and Vetsaris LLC.

No Institutional Affiliation: While our contributors may hold professional certifications or memberships in veterinary and scientific organizations, all content on this Site is produced independently.

Disclaimer of Representation: Nothing on this Site should be construed as an official position, endorsement, or statement of policy by any professional board, university, veterinary association, or employer with which the authors are, or have been, affiliated.

Personal Capacity: All contributions to this Site are made in a personal and professional capacity by individual authors and do not represent the views of any third-party entity.

6. Intellectual Property

All content created, published, or made available by Vetsaris LLC on or through the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, trademarks, distilled evidence summaries, evidence grade methodologies, product evaluation frameworks, software, source code, and the selection and arrangement of content (“Site Content”) — is the exclusive intellectual property of Vetsaris LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view Site Content solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may print content for personal reference only. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, sell, sublicense, or otherwise exploit any Site Content without the express prior written consent of Vetsaris LLC.

Reproduction, distribution, or automated scraping of our reviews, evidence summaries, evidence grades, or product database for commercial purposes or for the purpose of training artificial intelligence or machine learning models is strictly prohibited without express prior written consent from Vetsaris LLC. Unauthorized use of Site Content may constitute copyright infringement and may subject you to civil and criminal liability.

The Pet Evidence Project name, logo, and all related product and service names, design marks, and slogans are trademarks or service marks of Vetsaris LLC. You may not use any Pet Evidence Project trademark or logo without our prior written consent.

7. Affiliate Links, Third-Party Advertising, and Editorial Integrity

Pet Evidence Project is provided free of charge to all users. The Site generates revenue through two commercial mechanisms: affiliate links and third-party advertising. Neither mechanism influences our editorial content, evidence reviews, or evidence grades in any way.

Affiliate links: The Site includes links to pet products on third-party retailers. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, Pet Evidence Project may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Products appearing in our certified product lists are selected based solely on objective certification criteria — such as NASC quality seal standards and WSAVA nutritional guidelines — and are not selected based on affiliate commission rates or brand relationships. We do not accept payment in exchange for product inclusion, favorable grades, or editorial endorsement.

Third-party advertising: The Site displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks. These advertisements are selected and served by third parties based on their own targeting criteria, which may include general browsing context or other factors determined by the advertising network. Vetsaris LLC does not control the content, accuracy, legality, or safety of third-party advertisements. The appearance of any advertisement on the Site does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Pet Evidence Project or Vetsaris LLC of any advertised product, service, or company. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on or interaction with any third-party advertisement.

Editorial firewall: The analysis, scientific appraisals, evidence grades, and editorial opinions expressed on Pet Evidence Project are determined solely by the scientific merits of the available evidence. They are not influenced by advertising relationships, affiliate commission structures, or any other commercial consideration. Advertisers have no input into, review of, or influence over any editorial content on the Site. We do not accept payment in exchange for higher evidence grades, favorable reviews, or editorial mentions.

We are not responsible for the content, safety, pricing, or availability of any third-party website linked from the Site, whether through affiliate links or advertisements. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site’s own terms.

8. Acceptable Use and User Conduct

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms of Use. If the Site allows for comments, forum participation, or other user-submitted content, you agree to:

  • Refrain from posting anything that could be construed as veterinary medical advice to other users.

  • Not post content that is defamatory, false, misleading, obscene, illegal, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
  • Not submit false or fraudulent information.
  • Not impersonate any person or entity.

You agree not to:

  • Reproduce, distribute, scrape, index, or reuse Site Content or data in bulk without our express prior written permission.
  • Use automated tools, bots, spiders, scrapers, web crawlers, deep-links, indexing agents, or other such mechanisms to access or interact with the Site.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or any user account other than your own.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers, infrastructure, or networks.
  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law.

9. User Data and Privacy

When you use the Site, we collect, store, and process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. By using the Site, you consent to such collection and processing.

We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any content on the Site, including evidence reviews, evidence grades, or product lists. Science evolves, and information that was accurate at the time of publication may become outdated. You assume all risk arising from your use of the Site and its content.

We make no representations regarding third-party advertisements appearing on the Site. The inclusion of any advertisement does not imply our endorsement of the advertised product, service, or company.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VETSARIS LLC, PET EVIDENCE PROJECT, OR THEIR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISEMENT OR AFFILIATE LINK APPEARING ON THE SITE.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY CONTAINED HEREIN, VETSARIS LLC’S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER AND REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE ACTION, WILL AT ALL TIMES BE LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), AS THE SITE IS PROVIDED TO YOU FREE OF CHARGE.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS OF USE SHALL EXCLUDE OR LIMIT LIABILITY FOR (I) DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE; (II) FRAUD OR FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION; OR (III) ANY OTHER LIABILITY WHICH CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE CALIFORNIA LAW, INCLUDING GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT.

12. User Remedy

You agree that your sole remedy for any problem with the Site — including errors or inaccuracies within the content — is to cease using the Site and any services provided through it. Vetsaris LLC, its technology providers, and any third party who promotes or provides a link to the Site shall not be liable for your use of the Site, including any errors or omissions in content, any infringement of third-party rights, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of using the Site.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vetsaris LLC, Pet Evidence Project, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, members, employees, contributors, and agents from and against any and all third-party claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from: (a) your use of and access to the Site; (b) your violation of any term of these Terms of Use; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; or (d) any claim that your submitted content caused damage to a third party. This indemnification obligation will survive these Terms of Use and your use of the Site.

14. Copyright and DMCA

  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Send DMCA notices to: Copyright Compliance Manager, Vetsaris LLC, 101 N Brand Blvd #11, Glendale, CA 91203; DMCA@petevidenceproject.com.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms of Use. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, arbitration, and governing law — will survive termination.

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Informal Resolution. Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact Vetsaris LLC at hello@petevidenceproject.com and provide a written description of the dispute, the relief sought, and your contact information. The parties agree to negotiate in good faith for at least thirty (30) days following receipt of such notice before either party initiates arbitration or litigation.

16.2 Governing Law. These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16.3 Limitation Period for Claims. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR THESE TERMS OF USE MUST BE FILED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER SUCH CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION AROSE, REGARDLESS OF ANY STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS TO THE CONTRARY. CLAIMS NOT FILED WITHIN THIS ONE-YEAR PERIOD ARE PERMANENTLY BARRED. This limitation does not apply to claims for infringement of intellectual property rights or to any claim that cannot be contractually shortened under applicable California law.

16.4 Small Claims Court. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court in Alameda County, California, if the claim qualifies under that court’s jurisdictional limits and is brought solely on an individual basis.

17. Binding Arbitration

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT.

17.1 Agreement to Arbitrate. Except for disputes that qualify for small claims court under Section 16.4, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms of Use or the Site that cannot be resolved through informal negotiation under Section 16.1 shall be resolved exclusively through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court.

17.2 Arbitration Rules and Venue. Arbitration shall be administered by JAMS pursuant to its applicable rules, including the JAMS Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards where applicable. The arbitration shall take place in Alameda County, California. The arbitrator shall apply California law consistent with the Federal Arbitration Act (9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq.). The arbitrator’s award shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

17.3 Exceptions. Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.

18. Class Action and Jury Trial Waiver

YOU AND VETSARIS LLC EACH AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDING, WHETHER IN ARBITRATION OR COURT, WILL BE CONDUCTED SOLELY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, MASS, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU HEREBY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS ACTION OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON’S CLAIMS AND MAY NOT PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF CLASS PROCEEDING.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU ALSO WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL WITH RESPECT TO ANY DISPUTE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE SITE.

19. Litigation Venue (Non-Arbitrable Claims)

For any claims not subject to arbitration under Section 17, or for enforcement of an arbitration award, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and waive any objection to the laying of venue in such courts.
