Pet Evidence Project / Vetsaris LLC

Last Updated: April 27th, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Vetsaris LLC (operating as Pet Evidence Project) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit petevidenceproject.com.

1. Overview and Scope

Pet Evidence Project is owned and operated by Vetsaris LLC, a California limited liability company. This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors and users of petevidenceproject.com (the “Site”), including pet owners reading articles and evidence reviews, visitors browsing supplement and food reviews, and anyone who contacts us or submits information through the Site.

This Policy is incorporated by reference into and forms part of our Terms of Use. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Site.

Pet Evidence Project is a free resource. We do not charge users for access to any content. The Site generates revenue through affiliate links and third-party advertising. This Policy explains how data is collected and used in connection with those commercial mechanisms, as well as all other Site activity.

We are committed to complying with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, “CCPA/CPRA”), and regulations adopted by the California Privacy Protection Agency (“CPPA”), including those effective January 1, 2026.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Sign up for our newsletter — we collect your name and email address
  • Submit a contact form or send us a question or inquiry
  • Submit a product for review or provide feedback
  • Create a user account, if account functionality is available on the Site

2.2 Automatically Collected Technical Data

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URL, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring, debugging, performance optimization, and aggregate analytics.

2.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 5 of this Policy.

2.4 Third-Party Advertising Data

Third-party advertising networks that display advertisements on the Site may collect data about your browsing behavior using their own cookies and tracking technologies, subject to their own privacy policies. We do not control this data collection. See Section 4.3 for details.

2.5 Categories of Personal Information Under CCPA/CPRA

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA:

  • Identifiers: Name, email address, IP address, unique user identifiers (if you create an account)
  • Internet and network activity information: Browsing behavior on the Site, pages visited, search queries, time on page
  • Geolocation data: General location data derived from IP address (not precise geolocation)
  • Communications: Content of messages you send us through contact forms or email

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA (such as Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, biometric data, or health information). We do not collect payment information, as the Site is free and no purchases are made through the Site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To deliver content and send you newsletters and updates on the latest pet health evidence reviews, where you have subscribed
  • To respond to your inquiries, questions, and contact form submissions
  • To understand which pet health topics are most relevant to our community and improve our content accordingly
  • To maintain Site security and protect against fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests from government authorities
  • To analyze aggregate, de-identified usage trends for Site improvement

We do not use your personal information for targeted behavioral advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

4.1 Service Providers

We share personal information with third-party service providers strictly as necessary to operate the Site. These may include:

  • Email delivery platform: To send newsletters and transactional communications to subscribers. Your name and email address are shared with this provider only to the extent necessary to deliver communications you have requested.
  • Analytics providers: To understand aggregate Site usage. We use privacy-respecting analytics configurations where available.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: Including cloud hosting and content delivery services necessary to operate the Site.

All service providers are contractually required to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.

4.2 Affiliate Links

The Site includes affiliate links to third-party pet product retailers. When you click an affiliate link and navigate to a third-party site, that site’s own privacy policy and data practices apply. We may receive a commission if you make a purchase, but we do not receive or process your payment information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of affiliate destination sites.

4.3 Third-Party Advertising

The Site displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks. These advertising networks may use cookies, pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies to collect data about your browsing activity across websites — including the Site — in order to serve contextually or behaviorally targeted advertisements. This data collection is governed by the advertising network’s own privacy policy, not this Policy.

Vetsaris LLC does not provide your personal information to advertising networks, and does not control what data advertising networks independently collect through their own tracking technologies. If you wish to limit this type of data collection, you may:

  • Adjust your browser’s cookie settings to block third-party cookies
  • Use browser privacy extensions that block advertising trackers
  • Visit the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at optout.networkadvertising.org
  • Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info

4.4 Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights

We may disclose your information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vetsaris LLC, our users, or the public.

4.5 Business Transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will provide notice to affected users as required by applicable law.

4.6 No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. Note that independent data collection by third-party advertising networks through their own tracking technologies, as described in Section 4.3, is governed by their policies and is outside the scope of this commitment.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:

  • Functional cookies: To remember your preferences and maintain your session if you are logged in to a user account.
  • Analytics cookies: To understand aggregate how visitors interact with the Site — which pages are most visited, how long visitors spend on content, and which topics generate the most interest. We use this data to improve our content and Site experience.
  • Third-party advertising cookies: Set by third-party advertising networks to serve advertisements on the Site. These are subject to the advertising network’s own privacy policy and cookie practices. See Section 4.3.

We do not currently use advertising cookies that track your behavior across third-party websites for the purpose of building an advertising profile linked to your identity.

You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality. You can also opt out of third-party advertising tracking as described in Section 4.3.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. The following retention periods apply:

  • Newsletter subscriber information: Retained for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we will remove you from active mailing lists within a commercially reasonable time. Suppression records may be retained to prevent inadvertent re-subscription.
  • Contact form submissions and communications: Retained for up to 3 years from the date of your last communication, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • Technical and log data: Retained for up to 12 months for security and debugging purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
  • User account information (if applicable): Retained for the duration of your account. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personally identifying data within 90 days, except as required for legal or fraud prevention purposes.

In accordance with the CPRA, if you request access to your personal information, we will provide information collected from January 1, 2022 onward, and will provide a mechanism for you to specify a date range for your request.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

This section applies to California residents and describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, the “CCPA/CPRA”), and implementing regulations adopted by the California Privacy Protection Agency, including regulations effective January 1, 2026.

Pet Evidence Project does not use automated decision-making technology (ADMT) to make significant decisions about California consumers as defined by the 2025 CPPA regulations effective January 1, 2026. We may request information to verify your identity before processing your request. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

8. Children’s Privacy

Pet Evidence Project is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at hello@petevidenceproject.com and we will promptly delete that information.

9. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and monitoring for security incidents.

In accordance with the CPRA’s requirement that businesses implement reasonable security procedures appropriate to the nature of the personal information collected (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100(e)), we regularly review and update our security practices.

No internet transmission or electronic storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information. In the event of a data security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.82) and other applicable breach notification laws.

10. Links to Third-Party Sites

Our reviews and articles frequently link to third-party scientific journals, pet product sites, and other external resources. These links are provided for reference and convenience only. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, accuracy, or safety of any third-party website, including affiliate destination sites and scientific publication sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any external site before providing personal information to it.

11. International Users

Pet Evidence Project is operated from the United States and is intended primarily for users within the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

12. Your Communication Preferences

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us at hello@petevidenceproject.com. We will process your unsubscribe request within a commercially reasonable time.

We may send you transactional communications related to your account or a request you have made (such as a response to a contact form submission). These communications are not promotional and cannot be opted out of while your account or request remains active.

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals to websites. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, Pet Evidence Project does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to Do Not Track signals. We will update this Policy if a standard emerges and we adopt a response protocol.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
